Fungal Or Viral Infection On Lips

1917 Indian Model O

Talk about coincidence.
What are the odds that two motorcycle manufacturers, locked in competition for dominance of the U.S. market, would come out with the same design is radically different in almost the same time?

This is exactly what has happened in Indian and Harley-Davidson more than 80 years ago. And the fact that the bike in question have been abysmal failures sale only adds to the mystery.

The impasse in which both companies accelerated the full power? The low power market, horizontally opposed twin-cylinder bike. Indian

that charged into the fray first, when he introduced the Model Twin O Light in 1917. With a bold move by single and V-twins that had fueled the first 16 years of success of the company, the Indian pulled out a 15.7 cubic inch (265cc) horizontally opposed two-cylinder engine mounted in a lightweight.

This is the engine design that would become famous in generations of BMW motorcycles, continuing to this day. But the project can trace its roots to British-made motorcycles Douglas, who had been in production since 1907. As the first

Douglases, the model O was inserted into the frame of its engine with the cylinders in front of back and forth, rather than sticking out on each side, the way BMW would eventually do so. It 's done for a bike that was tight, light, soft and handy all the characteristics that India hoped to attract a new generation of younger customers.

As it turned out, the Model O was exactly what the bikers did not want. Its little engine does not excite the fans, and the fall in prices of mass-produced car effectively destroyed the market for motorcycles as means of transport at low cost.

To add insult to injury, the OR model soon became known as il Nulla "Modello.''
